What to do with the rest of the weekend?

Seeing as how I've spent a majority of this weekend on the couch, I need to get my butt up and moving the next few days so I don't feel like this weekend has been a complete loss. So, while Cory is in Baltimore, I figured I would poke around and see what special events I could find going on in the area to check out Sunday and Monday. Here's what we have to choose from:

Heading down to DC to see the Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef. Sounds amazing, right? Here's a video with some background for you:

At the National Museum of American History there is a selective exhibit of the only photos taken of the Kennedy family between JFK's election and his inauguration. Pretty cool. This one is stellar:

Or maybe head down to the Charles Theatre in Baltimore to see Blue Valentine or a different movie.

Either way, there is a lot of good stuff to choose from. I hope I can get my puffy cheeks under control and head out of town for a bit with the Mr.!

Puffy Cheeks... Update 3

(I have my head tilted to the side... I didn't realize it at the time, but it's the side that's most swollen. I promise I'm not hiding it on purpose!)

I woke up way more swollen today than yesterday. As expected, the main swollen part is on the bottom left side of my face. Also, the pain medication that I have been taking seems to be upsetting my stomach more today than usual--so I'm trying to stray away from that. Boo!

Today is a pretty big day in Maryland as the Ravens play Pittsburgh to see who will advance one step closer to the Super Bowl. As a result, I'm sitting on my couch wearing a Ravens t-shirt while Cory is out in Baltimore with Rich and Beth and some other friends. I really wish I feel as if I could handle being out of the house, as I haven't really gotten much fresh air, but I don't want to chance it. Might as well take the chance while I have it and bulk up on couch and kitten time. Plus, I'm working on a new project! I'll be back later today with the end results!

1) I need a few packaging items created for my upcoming Spring craft shows. I have all the ideas, but I need someone who is handy with the computer to make them come to life. I can do the printing, I just need the files...or you can do the printing!

2) I need a blog makeover to correspond with an Etsy update within the next month or so... and if possible, for a reasonable rate. 

I want to go with someone trustworthy instead of a random person I find online, so if you are a designer or you have a recommendation, please leave a comment!

Puffy Cheeks Update 2

Well... today has been full of highs and lows. I don't feel much pain, but my face is pretty uncomfortable on the whole. I've been eating the typical wisdom teeth foods--applesauce, milkshakes, etc. but it's starting to get old. I really want a corndog! or pizza! or ANYTHING CHEWY! Oh well.. I'll have my hay day soon enough.

The good news is that I got in some quality time with my kittens and my crochet hooks today. Here's your updated shameless puffy cheek picture and then a close up of the appropriately named "puff-stitch" infinity scarf I whipped up! You'll see I'm a bit more swollen on the bottom left side of my face (your right) as that was the little booger that had to be drilled extra. Boo!

What do you think about the scarf? It's a pretty shade of blue.

What I'm shopping for today!

The biggest problem with me being stranded on the couch all day is online shopping. It's like I'm sitting here, watching really horrible day-time television thinking to myself: Hmm.. I wonder what's on ETSY!?

And off I go into a glorious online shopping world. It's a magical fairytale that Etsy!

The next few months are super busy for me as I have a class and two shows coming up (have you noticed the Calendar widget in the sidebar? ----->

So I need a great bag to get me through the hecticness. I love my current bag (photos later), but I'm ready for an update. My current bag has been around since I found it at Forever 21 in Union Square in NYC last April. I truly love it. Whenever I try to use a different one... I always come back to it. With that being said, I want a fresh look with just as much space.

Here's what I found on etsy that I'm loving:

I need one. I want one. It will be perfect for all the yarn I plan on taking with me every day!

There were a few things about this bag that really caught my eye:

-mint condition--very much like new considering it's from the 70s.

-original American Tourist tag

-original keys

-pretty cornflower blue that never fails to brighten my day!

Of course, when it comes to purses, I have a few requirements:

-it needs to be soft and able to carry my wallet, a book, crochet hooks, and at least one skein of yarn.

-it needs to have a side strap--not just handles. I have been spoiled and can't stand carrying a bag on my shoulder anymore. (My chiropractor is very happy about this decision!)

-it needs to be a color other than black or brown. I like my accessories to have personality and color--so they can go with nearly every outfit.

-I need numerous pockets (business cards, pens, paper, etc.)

I think this bag is perfect for 2011 and the next few months, let alone the price was UNBEATABLE!

Puffy Cheeks Update 1

You may not know this, but I don't have a lot of shame. I have a LOT of privacy, but usually not much shame. Anyway--I thought it would be sorta silly to post the swelling process of my cheeks after having my wisdom teeth removed today. So here you go--here I am, a few hours post surgery, with no makeup and very messy hair. And a really sweet kitten who keeps by my side at all times when I'm not feeling my usual, perky, self.

Essentially--having my teeth pulled was a piece of cake. I showed up, they hooked me up to laughing gas (which actually made me giggle), put me under for about 20 minutes, and when I woke up I felt great and totally with it. Cory swung me by a fast food joint so I could get a chocolate milkshake. I wasn't allowed to eat for 8 hours before the surgery--but realistically, I just didn't eat after 9 pm last night. Seeing that my sugery wasn't over until noon, I was pretty hungry. That milkshake was DELICIOUS.

Since I've been home the bleeding of my gums has stopped. I've had a bowl of applesauce, a  bowl of chocolate pudding, and am feeling pretty good. It's just been me and Flip hanging out on the couch watching season 1 of Weeds via Netflix. Cory and I like to watch TV on DVD (remember 30 Rock?) and this is our newest obsession.

Cory has been doing a great job taking care of me. It's so wonderful to have a husband with the exact same work schedule as me and the flexibility of time off during the work week. We are extremely fortunate.

Anywho, I'm going to go start crocheting my free pattern from this week! Maybe I'll get to blog more than I had planned (woo!).
