To decorate or not to decorate?

I can definitely get down with Christmas cheer this time of year--but only in my mind. I love the daydreams, the imaginary scent of cookies, the warm tidings and joy. Sure. I'm there; I'll play ball. Unfortunately, it does unsettle me a little when stores and brands go off the wall with decorating oh-so-it's-not-even-Thanksgiving-yet-early. I can support right before Thanksgiving to get ready for Black Friday... or whatever. But right after Halloween is too much for me.

When I saw this photo a friend shared on Facebook, I was so truly happy that Nordstrom decided to take a stand in the right, holiday-friendly direction!

What do you think? Are you a "I don't care what day or month it is, I'm down for Christmas" or "Hold it until December 1" person? I'm curious to see!

Alright... I'm off to teach the minds of the next generation!

A life update & a giveaway!

Hey ya'll.

Cory and I have been up to our eyebrows in boxes and odds and ends. As you know, we closed on our property last Friday. We promptly began painting the condo with a brand new color scheme compared to the cotton candy blues & pinks that were canvasing the walls.

Here's a sneak peek of our bedroom!

I will be back later with an entire home tour but we have A LOT of work to do before then... like getting a couch... and end tables... and other stuff.

In other news, I assisted my step father in throwing my mom a surprise birthday party! I'll be back with a full review of that as well.

A huge sigh of relief.

If you can remember, Cory and I gave up cable & internet as part of our new year resolution this time last year. We survived a full 12 months without internet (other than our cell phones and internet hotspots around town), and after my most recently identity theft issue, we finally agreed it was time to add a little internet security to our lives and just get internet again. The Comcast guy just left, and I am fully wired! Woo hoo! I am thrilled! No more lugging my laptop to various cafe's and bookstores (although it was sort of fun).

Winter Wonderland Giveaway!

Greetings! There is a lovely chill in the air in Maryland today. It's so lovely that Cory and I have spent our day cleaning, cooking two different kinds of soup for the week, and crafting (well...I have been, not Cory).
