Weekend Re-cap

It has been a few crazy days around here. I am feeling the crunch as far as wedding preparations are concerned. I feel like my To-Do-List is getting longer and my time is getting shorter! Yikes!
The good news is that it has been a fun few days around here. I survived my bachelorette party Saturday night (barely) and have some fun pictures from my phone of what I have been up to lately! Check 'em out!

I saw this awesome sky driving home.

I saw these beautiful Blackeyed Susans walking to my car.

Met up with friends at Alive @ 5, our bi-monthly beer garden/music event downtown.
Where a lot of people were hoola hooping...

Helped Ralphie prepare a Happy Birthday statement for my Mom:

Went to the Offray Ribbon Factory to gather some ribbon for the wedding.

My girlfriends and I gathered at the Haluch studio downtown for a bracelet class for my bachelorette party!

I chose these beads for my bracelet (but it wasn't easy to decide)!

Our finished products!

I don't have any pictures of ME yet, but as soon as I do, I will post them. After we finished our bracelets, we did a mini-photo shoot in the beautiful zen garden outside. I'm really excited to see those photos!

And... I end this post with what Cory's car said during the drive between home and Panera.

101! Yikes!

I'm on the hunt to fund some delicious cherry pie/cobbler and icecream!

Hope you had a great weekend!

A quickie...

Many of you know that I consider myself a tried and true southern gal at heart. I love all things from the south: music, heat, tradition, soul food, clothing, etc. My friend, Sarah, who taught at the College of Charleston for a few years, introduced me to this amazing magazine last year, and the cover of their June/July issue is to die for.

Makes you want to hop in the kitchen and make yourself a cherry pie, right?

My favorite attribute of Garden & Gun magazine is that they focus on local events in all states south of the Mason Dixon line. If you live between Maryland and Alabama, I am SURE there is something for you in this beautiful mag. You are promised gorgeous glossy photos, mouth watering food reviews, and many other good reads.

Okay, I must run. I have been at work all morning and have a gazillion errands to run!

Wedding countdown: 12 days!

June Happy Mail!

Hey, sunshine!

Is it blistering hot where you are? It has been at least 95 degrees by 10 a.m. for the last few weeks. It's unbelievable! We've all been doing what we can to stay happy during this "heat wave" that is el nino. I've been wearing very light clothes and keeping all the blinds shut, Cory has been taking long naps infront of the air conditioner every afternoon, and poor Ralphie, well, he's been sleeping infront of the refrigerator.

Did I mention that we have 1 window unit for our whole house? Needless to say, we spent a lot of time everywhere but home!

So, I just realized that I haven't posted about my AWESOME Happy Mail from this month! I know I posted about Jamie a ton in May, but I haven't done Dain her justice! If you get a chance, you need to visit her blog.

I introduce to you, the lovely Dain!

1) She's an extremely talented art journalist (and also with many other forms of mixed media)! Sometimes she'll post pics of her journaling, but you can also see loads of pics on her flickr account (and she can decide if she wants to share that with you ;)).

2) She has the most ADORABLE shop where she sells her handmade headbands. I was so happy when I opened my happy mail package and found a beautiful green satin headband. It's so perfect in every way. I can't wait to find the best dress possible to match it with!

I die every time I scroll through her shop. It makes me really wish for thicker/more voluminious hair (mine is stick straight without any energy--ever).

3) She sent me this adorable Happy Mail package.

I have never loved Vera Bradley, but she has found the one pattern that I could fall in love with! Check out that wallet! The pattern is called "Sittin' in a Tree" and is so cute and totally my style.

After opening the package, I immediately started to paint my nails with the nailpolish she sent to me, and of course, I spilt it (and smudged it) on the cover of the Nick Hornby book. Of course. I am so clumsy! Oh well, I have it as clean as posible!

Thank you so much, Dain!
I loved each and every item so much!

My Bridal Shower!

I am so thankful for my wonderful shower that occured last Saturday! I decided that I couldn't choose just one maid of honor, so I named Lindsey my matron of honor and Lisa my maid of honor. Because Lindsey has a newborn and Lisa lives in Manhattan, I knew that they would do an amazing job of splitting the duties and taking care of everything. Sure enough, they did. The shower was beautiful and so much fun. It was great to see everyone and visit. I am so thankful for so many thoughtful gifts that I received as well! Here are a few pictures of the day (ignore the flash pics, the lighting was super wonky, so it was our last resort).

Ladies mingling.
Lindsey and Mom discussing plans, I'm sure.
My delicious cake from Icing Bakery & Cafe.
Cake table with shower favors. Such pretty colors!
Gobbling up some lunch!
Me with my future niece, Sloane.
Me and Lisa!
Adorable Laurel!

Thank you again everyone! It was such a wonderful day!

What's next you ask? Everyone is in town tonight for my bachelorette party! I'll post pics soon!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Happy birthday to my wonderful mother, Jane!

I really appreciate all that you do and share with me and the family.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Beautiful Photo Shoots for July

Since I don't have a lot of time on my hands to sit down and get into a good book, I have been going through magazines like crazy. There have been a few photo shoots that have taken my breath away and I wanted to share them with you!

Vogue (July 2010) had Peter Lindbergh shoot Ewan McGregor and Natalia Vodianova in a classic 1950s family style. Here are my favorites:

The second shoot was a pleasent surprise for me. W magazine featured Eva Mendes for their July 2010 issue. Although I have never been a huge fan of Mendes, these pictures are to die for.

Check out those cat eyes! I love her rounded nails, as well!

Love the red lips.

To me, this is so effortlessly beautiful.

I want that dress! Right now!

See what I mean? When I refresh my inspiration wall for fall, you can guarantee these photos will adorn my walls! So beautiful and classic!

Have you seen any breathtaking shoots? Any good reads?

A taste...

Since I have been sharing so much about the history of Liz and Cory, I thought I would share some of the AMAZING engagement pictures that my dear friend, Pang, took last August. Pang is such an awesome person; not only is she a fantastic photographer, but she is also an avid crafter! If you have never before, check out her blog and shop!

We are so lucky that she is also photographing our wedding!

Have a fantastic day :)
